Cyber-bullying Presentation Given by John Halligan
Thank you to John Halligan for his moving presentation.
John’s son Ryan, committed suicide as a result of having been ridiculed and humiliated by peers at school and on line.
As a result of the circumstances surrounding Ryan's death, Mr. Halligan spearheaded the Vermont Bully Prevention bill and has successfully lobbied for mandatory suicide prevention education in public schools.
He has continued to speak out about the need of more education and prevention of bullying, cyber bullying and teen suicide, sharing his son's story as a way of educating the public about the effects of bullying.
Both the Middle School and High School students attended this Presentation on both September 29th and September 30th.
On the evening of September 29th, parents were invited to Mr. Halligan's presentation in the high school auditorium.
